The 1% Steps for Health Care Reform project identifies specific, evidence-based policies to lower health care costs without sacrificing quality. Last month published 10 new briefs and updated 13 of our previously published briefs.

Together, potential savings from these 23 policies total $450 billion annually, or roughly 8% of what the U.S. spends on health care.

Speakers will discuss:

  • How 1% Steps turns rigorous academic research into actionable policy recommendations to meaningfully lower health care costs—without compromising quality

  • Specific evidence-based reforms, including:

    • Combining the small-group and individual insurance markets to lower household and federal spending

    • Increasing childhood flu vaccination access

    • Reducing unnecessary skilled nursing facility use
